Our professional experience include providing technical expertise for groundwater supply and water development projects, site characterization and remediation, project management, and representing clients and legal counsel with regulatory agencies. We have experience with municipal, industrial, agricultural, ranching operations, food and beverage companies, federal agencies, petroleum and railroad companies, real estate development, and chemical manufacturing clients.
HGS founder and principal Chris R. Hyatt manages each project and is the primary point of contact for every client and project that comes through the door. Our project teams are assembled from both inside and outside our firm using seasoned professionals, technical experts and qualified subcontractors who can provide additional expertise and collaboration. This method of operation ensures that the right resources are applied to each project.
Prior to starting HGS, Mr. Hyatt spent over two decades working for both small and large, nationally recognized engineering consulting firms on projects located across the United States and Canada. His favorite part of the job is connecting with clients and helping solve problems. He knows that hiring a consultant requires trust, but that trust needs to be earned by delivering on our word and keeping our promises.
Hydrogeology & Groundwater Supply Services
Specializing in groundwater supply and contaminant hydrogeology, HGS has designed and implemented hydrogeologic characterizations, constructed and installed groundwater monitoring networks, performed aquifer testing and characterizations for municipal water supply projects, participated in large production well design and construction, conducted water rights analyses and compliance monitoring, designed well inspection and rehabilitation projects, performed aquifer and test well studies, installed groundwater remediation systems, modeled groundwater contaminant fate and transport, and performed deterministic risk assessments.
Environmental Services
HGS provides a range of services from expert environmental due diligence in support of property transactions to pollution remediation for property redevelopment. HGS knows the environmental regulations and successfully advocates for our clients with regulators to facilitate efficient site characterization, remediation, and final site closure.
We utilizes many creative, effective, and non-routine strategies to significantly limit costs associated with environmental investigation and remediation, reduce remedial time frames, limit impacts to redevelopment efforts, and achieve regulatory closure for contaminated sites, enabling our clients to efficiently and cost-effectively achieve their objectives.
By looking ahead and anticipating a project’s requirements, many data gaps can be avoided and headaches spared.
HGS has performed hundreds of site investigations for federal, industrial, private and municipal clients who required a thorough understanding and interpretation of the site, as well as a detailed presentation of anticipated remedial options, potential risks and costs. A comprehensive understanding of environmental impacts associated with past, present, and future land uses allows our clients to strategically negotiate reductions in cost or to evaluate the feasibility of property acquisition or redevelopment.
Our Approach
Project management is the foundation of any successful project. Every project is different and, as such, HGS approaches every project with a tailored scope of services designed specifically to meet that project’s goals, schedule, and the client's objectives. Our project teams are assembled using a project-specific approach and include outside professionals, when needed, who can provide additional expertise in order to apply the right resources to each project.
HGS has extensive experience working with municipalities, government and public agencies, independent business operators, ranchers, developers, attorneys, insurance companies, railroad and oil companies, most of whom require detailed cost estimates outlining each phase of the project, from due diligence through investigation, remediation, and site closure. Working closely with our clients, we evaluate and closely align our project budgets with client needs throughout the course of a project. Every project requires a thoroughly documented understanding of the project budget and close, responsive communication between HGS and the client regarding the costs associated with site management, investigation, engineering evaluations and feasibility studies, remediation planning and implementation, and negotiation with regulatory agencies.
